Bad credit loan

<p>Does anyone know how/where to get a private student loan with bad credit? I may or may not have a creditworthy cosigner. I also have a default on a previous private student loan with sallie mae and I'm worried that will prevent me from getting the loan I need, even WITH a cosigner. </p>

<p>All I need is a small loan ($3000-$4000) to pay off a debt leftover from the last school I went to in order for them to transfer my transcripts over. I already qualify for federal aide and grants and I will be attending part time for now so I will get enough federal aide so that I won't need any (other) private loans. </p>

<p>Once I am a student again, I have a plan to bring my credit score (512- yikes!) back up. I just need a little nudge in the right direction and until then, I'm just stuck. When I say "stuck", I mean...3 small children, no car, no job, living with family, on foodstamps....just trying to be independent again and give my kids a better life...PLEASE HELP!</p>

<p>Is your prior student loan rehabilitated now? How can you get a student loan without actually being a student? I don’t think this is going to work as student loans usually have to be certified by the college…if you can’t be accepted without your prior transcripts then you’ve got a problem. Also, schools won’t certify loans in excess of their cost of attendance so if your aid fully covers the cost of your part-time studies, there just won’t be room for them to certify a loan.</p>
