bad day

I didn't get in, this is def the worst day of my life. Looks like I am going to Msu's honors college but I do want to transfer!! Irish I will probably need your help here! Goof luck to everyone else

I'm really sorry, and I know that no matter what people say it still really hurts. Even though I had been 80% sure of going to ND, Stanford had been my dream school since jr. high. Yesterday I found out I got rejected there, and also at Dartmouth and probably Princeton. Duke waitlisted me. I know how it feels when you love a school and kill yourself for 4 years of high school only to receive a letter telling you that you didn't make the cut. Best of luck at MSU and with transferring. Be sure to visit Irish's website.

Thank you so much that helped a lot. I hate reading other peoples stats and thinking "I got the same scores that they did! Why didnt I get in?" I don't want to give up my dream yet so hopefully I can transfer. Even though I know that it does not matter where you go to school, what's important is who you are.

That is true. Don't focus on the stats, I know a few kids from my year that got in with my stats or lower but you can't stress over that, they got in for a reason and maybe ND looks beyond those stats? Who knows, it really is a crapshoot.

Check out my post on the small envelope and also www.nd.edu/~mnadorff/transfer when you are ready and we can talk about the steps more if you would like. No rush, I have been around here for years and will remain for years, just get in touch when/if you feel up for it and we can talk about what you should do with MSU to give it a chance as well as classes and all those things.

Just go about it the way that feels right to you. I was the type that has to keep working on a goal so that the day I was rejected was the first day I got in touch with transfer admissions. If you need time, however, certainly take it because I realize that I am crazy!

I am sorry to hear about your results but just remember that all it does is change one year, not four.
