My freshman year I got 2.33UW/2.83W GPA. All of my classes were Honors classes. My goal is to become to go to Georgia Tech for Engineering or Computer Science. I know that I can do much better, and I plan to, I just want to now how much of an effect this will have on college admissions.

If there was a reason they were so low (anxiety, moving, death of a loved one, etc.) then colleges will certainly understand, but you should keep in mind that you will have to tell them about that (in the “additional information” section that will be on your application). If it was just the transition to high school, then you can also write about that and focus on what you learned from it. If you keep raising your GPA throughout high school, they’ll see this as an upward trend, which is great. As long as you improve from here, you’ll be fine - colleges care about all high school years, but they usually focus on junior year and the first part of your senior year. :)

Freshman grades mean less than sophomore or junior grades. Do better and you certainly can get into GTech.
