ACT: 26
I got a 32 on math, 25 on writing, 26 on english 23 on reading and 20 on science. i've done better in individual areas on previous ACT dates.
GPA: 3.1
I have many extra curricular activities and i have volunteered a lot.
I'm trying to major in International Business and Finance

So far my colleges are:
First Choice: Virginia Polytechnic Institute
Second Choice: University of Connecticut
University of Cincinnati
Drexel University
Temple University
Penn State University
University of Pittsburgh
Purdue University
James Madison University
American University
Rutgers New Brunswick
University of Massachusetts Amherst

Do i have a chance of getting into any of these colleges?

Which state do you live in? You will have a better chance as an in-state student at public colleges.

A 26 isn’t THAT good…I think.

And a 3.1 isn’t THAT bad.

Better chances at Temple, Drexel and Cincinnati. Reach for American, Pitt, PSU, VA Tech and UConn. Not sure on the others. Best of luck!

First Choice: Virginia Polytechnic Institute -reach
Second Choice: University of Connecticut-reach
University of Cincinnati -good chance
Drexel University-maybe (this school is climbing, so it’s a tough call)
Temple University-good chance
Penn State University-reach
University of Pittsburgh-reach
Purdue University-reach
James Madison University-reach (climbed to 3.8 accepted avg. this year)
American University-reach
Rutgers New Brunswick-reach
University of Massachusetts Amherst-reach

What state are you located? DePaul University in IL has a very strong business program and so does Ohio University -Athens. Your stats are right for both these schools. If you are instate VA, then maybe focus on George Mason U.? Good luck!

Im in new jersey, i think i should attempt the ACTs and SATs again.
my problem is that my dad’s all about how prestigious the school is and i have to only apply to those schools that he has heard of.

will applying early action give me a better chance than if i were to apply regular decision?

The 3 schools that jkiwmom mentioned are good ones and would be very good choices with your stats. Ohio U is beautiful also with a college town type of atmosphere. Best of luck!

does anyone else suggest any other schools with strong business programs?

Miami University Oxford, Ohio has a great business program.
