Low GPA. ECs are sub-par. Have you done community service?

“SAT CR: 770
SAT Writing: 780
SAT Math: 800
^should I retake? This was my first try and I didn’t study”

screw you. damn braggart

Without your rank it’s impossible to say. At many CA public schools a 3.9 would not be top 10% If you’re not in the top handful in your class Stanford is highly unlikely. MIT you would have a slightly better chance being female but it’s a big reach.

And I believe the OP is Indian, not Native American, so an ORM not a URM.

I’ve done more than 200 hours of community service at a hospital. And the Girl Scout Gold Award requires a minimum of 65 volunteer hours. I didn’t realize I had subpar ECs, I thought that they were the strongest part of my application. What can I do to improve upon them?

I’m only in the top 20% of my class, and abcdgsds, that is why I am worried.

whateverr: Your ECs are excellent, they show great passion in a few areas which colleges like to see.

hmom5: Correlation does not imply causation. MIT has said time and time again that their female applicants are more self selecting. Being female will not help.

Not to be rude but are you joking? How can you get that on your SAT and not be confident about getting into college! Your SAT is super amazing, like are you even human? Your GPA is not low and could proably get you into Standford.
