It is opposite to Connorb123's question below.
What if I got an average B GPA? I scored 800 on Math2 and 750 on BioM. My SAT1 expect to rise, I hope. I took once, it was 2100.
I also play an instrument, first chair in Allstate band.
Do I have any hope to get into a good school, at least top 20?

Top 20? No.

Gosh you really need to pick up that GPA, it’s terrible. I advice you see a counselor immediately to discuss your problem…LOL im implying my answers, hopefully you end up getting better ones than mine.

No, you won’t get into a Top 20 and perhaps not a Top 50…because likely your rank is too low.

When you look at the GPA stats of very good schools these days, 80-90% of their frosh had 3.25 GPAs or higher. Those with lower GPAs are usually the athletes and special admits.

Here’s an example…

UMich…ranked # 29

* 63% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
- 27% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
- 6% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49

96% of students have a GPA over 3.25. 90% have a GPA of over 3.5.

* 3% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
- 1% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99

UWisconsin #45

* 53% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
- 25% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
- 13% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
- 6% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
- 3% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99

You need to come up with a reasonable list based on your stats.

^Where’d you get those numbers from…I’m interested thats all?

Most likely CollegeBoard.com

This is depressing.
