First of all, that's not horribly low.

Second of all, you got in! So don't worry about it.

i know, i'm still kinda shocked

From Canada and we don't have GPA. If i get 90% in every course what would my GPA be around or is it more complicated then just converting it?

Well it depends on if weighted points are included in the 90s. If not, then you would have just under a 3.7 (uw) at my school; I don't know about at other schools.

It also depends on the grading scale used by the school system you're in. At my current school it goes: 90-100=A, 80-89=B, 70-79=C, 60-69-D, 59 and under is an E.... But at the school I went to in West Va. the grading scale was: 94-100=A, 86-93=B, 76-85=C,75-70=D, 69 and under is an E.

sbroy -- your current school's grading system is more traditional. The most common pattern is:

100+ = A+ = 4.0+ (some schools may weight an A+ higher)
93 - 100 = A = 4.0
90-93 = A- = 3.66666
87 - 90 = B+ = 3.33333
83 - 87 = B = 3.0
80 - 83 = B- = 2.6666 etc.

ours is:
95-100: A+
90-94: A
85-89: B+
80-84: B
75-79: C+
70-74: C
and so forth.

The common misconception, though, is that with my current grading system its easier to get good grades...... NOT. They just grade harder.

Baykin, what extracurriculars do you have under your belt? 3.62 is not bad at all, but to get into Brown, you must have something else that makes you stand out.

wow. that's awesome! ur extras, essays, and ec's must have been awesome. and btw, that's still a pretty good GPA. any tips? i'm probably in a similar situation as you.
