Kinda like this story for part of a college essay… Lol… It takes a lot of maturity to understand you need help and things aren’t going as planned. Sometimes shifting course is the best option. He can also start reviewing for the math class he will take and maybe get help from his math teacher now to keep in engaged.
That’s what his counselor said…turn this experience into a college essay :))
He’s trying to become a TA for his current calculus teacher so that he can keep learning without the pressure of the grades. The teacher might not agree though.
Seems like a teacher would want a TA who did well in the course previously (or, at the very least, is one of the top students in the course now), rather than a student who is having difficulty with the course now.
He does NOT need to TA a class he wasn’t doing well in! What kind of insane pressure is that???
To be clear, TA in their school is more like auditing the class. Kids just help out with checking the homework/tests etc. Anyway, his calc teacher said no but his AP history teacher (a class he’s excelling in) has said yes so his schedule is all sorted.
Thanks again for all the inputs/advice!
