Bad grades in a non core class (elective) + in languages - will colleges attribute it to lower GPA?

I received a B in World Business, this stupidly hard elective. I also received a B+ in Latin and Spanish, both language classes.

Will colleges note that i got much better grades in my actual CORE classes? (history, science, math etc)

I'm really hoping they'll note it. My GPA was a 3.6, and would've been around a 3.75 without the languages and int. business?

Thanks

Language is a core class and will count in the GPA. For business, it depends on the college.

Are you a freshman, sophomore, junior? If you are early in your high school career you still have time to sort of “repair” that.

Colleges take into account your overall UW GPA. They will more highly consider the grades you got in your more difficult and core classes, but either way your overall UW GPA as it is is still an important factor. Some schools have different policies when it comes to determining your GPA in a holistic manner. I wouldn’t worry about it too much. A few B’s wont kill you, a 3.6 isn’t that much different from a 3.7.

Foreign languages are considered core classes.
Colleges don’t look at GPA “without this or that class”. They only subtract PE and Health (or non academic classes like driver’s ed).
What type of colleges were you hoping to apply to?
