Is it really bad to get C's and B's in stupid classes like mandatory religious classes (at christian/jewish schools) or health or whatever?

Do you think that if someone has an A/A- average in the main (real) subjects, it'll matter that their gpa is significantly lower in classes that supposedly do count? Like, do they count? If so, how much?

i have the same question because i work really hard in art, and produce some nice things but i only got an 85. Will colleges view this as slacking?

I've been told that many colleges don't include electives like art (unless its advanced, or you're going to major in it) when re-calculating GPAs.

One college I applied to had a requirement that you had to take a certain number of electives though, so they might take into consideration those grades from them.

I'm guessing it varies from college to college.

they will c everything..but idk about the religion aspects..u might wanna ask ur guidance counselors or call the college ur looking at and ask them

Yeah, because I have 5 extra religion classes, and I know they're not important, but they're still a ton of work because our teachers have this skewed perspective on things... each of them think that their subject is the most important one, so if they give us a lot of work, it's okay because it's in the most important subject (according to their logic)...

Perhaps your religious thinking is evolving in a way that your religious teachers find "controversial" and you're torn between being honest with yourself or "toeing the line" to get a grade. Maybe you're taking the high road hence the low grades. Sounds like a potentially good essay topic and a pretty healthy position. Be who you are not what someone else wants you to be.
