Bad Grades In HS, Do I Stand A Chance?

In a nutshell, I'm going into my senior year. I was not as successful academically in high school due to my laziness. Junior year, I fixed myself up and did great. Turns out, now I'm graduating a semester early from high school, so I'll only have the fall semester.

I'm doing dual credit actually at a local community college right now(summer II) and will continue dc at a cc during the fall for 2 courses(maybe more if I'm given permission), then I'll be done in December. Spring semester, I'll attend cc and do the May semester(2 classes) and hopefully 1-2 classes for summer1 2012.

If I apply for transfer second semester, would I stand a chance? Or would my horrific high school years ruin my admission chances for me?

I love University of Texas in Austin and I really hope to major in Government in the College of Liberal Arts. So I'd like honest answers please! Be as rude or harsh as you want lol, I NEED to be realistic!

I like cc by the way. college is so much better than high school! much more freedom and so many different opinions.

It bascally all depends on class rank. But im sure if you write really good essays, have good SAT scores and get all As at the cc, you stand a good chance.

And im graduating early too! But in May!

If you did as poorly as you say, I imagine your chances are slim. As stated before, it all depends on your class rank and SAT score. My suggestion if you don’t get in is to stay at cc and make excellent grades, then apply as a transfer. You can do that when you have 30 hours, I believe. Good luck!
