I am currently a freshman in college and in the last semester I earned a 2.6gpa. I applied to another college for transfer and got accepted which made me ecstatic because I really wanted to transfer and go to the place. However, this semester has brought many difficulties. I am currently take two very difficult courses and am almost definately looking at a D in one and a C in the other one. This of course will cause my GPA to drop and I'm wondering what the general college policy is for revoking transfer application based upon bad grades. Is there anything I can do at this point to secure my spot or what would you suggest?

How much lower would you expect your GPA would be if you got a D and a C?

This early in the term, why don’t you focus on getting those grades up? That is the best thing you can do to “secure your spot.”

Well I am only taking 3 courses this semester so a C and a D would drop it pretty low. I’m halfway through the semester and it is too late to drop the class which is a math course that I cannot understand at all no matter how much I study and at this rate I know I will not do well.

Go to prof ofc hours. Get a study group/partner. Look for different texts, which you understand better than the one prof uses. Get an upperclassman tutor who took the course from the same prof.

If you don’t know how to find these things, go to your Academic Support office (or whatever they call it at your school).

Other students have been in this situation and have pulled the grade up. You have time.
