Well, here's my dilemma. Unfortunately, for the past few days, I've received an array of rejection/waitlist letters. I figured the chances of being admitted from waitlist is slim to none for most colleges, so I really don't have much option other than Boston College. I was thinking, I skipped third grade so I'm a year younger than most of my class. Would it be a bad idea to re-enroll as a Senior at another school then re-apply to colleges as freshman for class of 2010? Then, I'd probably have better crudentials including SATs(which were truly my greatest weaknesses), summer activities plus ECs and may even rack up some money for college. Is this idea too far-fetched or detracting further from my chances of getting into an Ivy-league college? Thanks in advance.

yikes--once you graduate, i don't think you can reenroll as a senior

Try a PG (post grad) year at a New England prep school or an English boarding school... this is a time honored tradition... might be able to even snag a scholarship... do you play any sports?

Yes, I play Ice Hockey (about Midget A division) but I'm an accomplished martial arts athelete. Could you tell me more about the PG in reply or PM? Thanks a lot.

Another idea may be to take a gap year: travel, spend time exploring your passions and enroll in a few classes at a community college or near-by university. This will help enhance your college application as admissions committees often find that, given a year, students mature quite a bit. It may help make you a more appealing candidate for the Class of 2010 round.

There is also the transfer option, although I think it's less practiced out there...

Gap years do some people a world of good! Interning might help you out quite a bit!

Yeah, you have a great opportunity to do something enjoyable and productive during your gap year, but Boston College is a nice college...

Im taking a gap year, or joining a college in England, and applying ED 2010

oh and by the way, Im also a year younger...skipped 10th grade...guess we're in the same boat!
