Bad Idea to take APUSH and AP European History?

I was supposed to take AP Euro this year, my sophomore year, along with AP World History. I ended up having a scheduling conflict and coulden’t take AP Euro. Will it be better to take AP Euro junior year with APUSH or Senior year as my only history class? I enjoy reading about history but am worrid APUSH and Euro wont really get along like AP WOrld and Euro overalp. Thanks in advance!

I know several people that did APUSH and AP Euro simultaneously. They didn’t have too much trouble keeping up.

There really isn’t much overlap between APUSH and AP Euro until you get past the 20th century and start entering the World War’s. If you enjoy history, and think the workload is manageable then why not take both? I took them both Junior year and received a 5 on both. The only downside is that the AP Exams are on the same day.

i’m taking both this year, and it’s been daunting so far for the sheer reading load. however, i’m biased because i’ve just finished spending my entire weekend studying for tests on the same day. any other day i’d recommend it to you! haha.

i must say that my ap euro teacher, upon seeing me carrying my apush book, launched a huge lecture to me about how it’s impossible, the tests are on the same day, they’re different types of DBQ’s, she told guidance not to let kids do it, blah blah blah… i just had to nod my head and keep repeating that i’m ready for the challenge.
