Bad idea to write an essay on having had and conquered anorexia?

Any opinions… My essays are all submitted so there’s no changing it but…

yup. bad. hope u pulled it off!

love,
jess

no not bad
it's real
it's believeable
no1 else had the guts
good on ya! im happy u beat it!

No worries :) They're all over and done with now, so just take a deep breath and know that you wrote from the heart ^_^

it depends on the presentation...in a book about Duke admissions a really good essay about anorexia (or was it bulemia....) helped push a girl into the accept pile

I have a friend with very good stats who wrote an essay on that topic and got rejected from Bowdoin ED. Hopefully you approached it the right way...good luck!

ariesdrgn, that essay was actually pushing the girl into the reject pile except toor fought valiantly to have her admitted. don't forget that, even then, she got three of those stickers (were they frogs?) that meant she needed special attention.

dinosaur stickers.... I just read the book.

What book is this?

bump anyone else?

...but weren't her grades, alone, not sufficient to get her accepted? i thought toor had the whole committee read the essay, and after their initial worries about her health, they accepted her on the merit of her essay writing?

btw its called admissions confidential, rachel (right?) toor, ex Duke adcom
