bad leadership?

Soo, I'm applying to some pretigious schools (MIT, WUSTL, Cornell, etc).
The problem is, my leadership area is lacking. I did try and and run many times for positions, but lost all of them. It sad, I know. I feel horrible everytime I look at the leadership part on my resume.

But anyways, my question is how much will this lack hurt me? What are my chances at these pretigious colleges with this lack?
