Stanford requires that we disclose all SAT and ACT scores, I believe. However, I'm in a situation where I have a pretty crappy SAT score (1980) but a pretty good ACT score (35). Will this be considered any differently from an application where only the ACT score is listed?

Not sure how they will view it. My daughter had almost the same ACT and nearly the same SAT, and ended up getting into Penn. I think other factors matter as much or more if you have one score that is that impressive.

Don’t send the SAT. Just send the ACT…it will be fine and make for a stronger application in my opinion. I did not send my SAT and there were no problems. Good luck !

Wow, that’s a big discrepancy. A 35 is akin to a 2330.

Anyway, if they require you to send all scores, then not sending the SAT is obviously not an option. I am not 100% sure that their policy requires full disclosure, so you should check again, but it probably does.

My guess is that they will ignore your SAT score, or at least not set much store by it. So to answer your question, it probably won’t make much of a difference.

If you have to send SAT II scores, will the SAT scores go too?

BTW…all your scores will likelly show up on your transcript that your GC sends. Whenever you take these tests, your school gets a “sticky” with your scores on it, and they plaster those stickies on your transcripts…so your colleges will see all scores no matter what.
