Hello,
I checked my SAT II score, and I received a 650 on US History. I know that a 700 is what I should be aiming for, but I thought I did really well. The colleges that I want to apply to are: UC Berkeley, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Santa Cruz, and Cal Poly. Where would this score be acceptable at?

keep in mind that an SAT II score isnt as important as an SAT I score. i dont think a 650 will flat out reject you anywhere

Cal Poly doesn't look at SAT II scores.

If I recall correctly, UCSC adds up all SAT 5 scores (SAT-R and IIs) and weights them according to their formula, then adds this value into your overall score. So your 650 is just one-fifth of your total SAT score and needs to be looked at in that context. How did you do on your other SAT tests?

Hey,
I took the Chem SAT II and got a 570. No one from our school really does well on the Chem SAT II, mainly because the school offers Honors Chemistry and not AP Chemistry. I'm not too bummed about that because science really isn't my thing. I will probably take Spanish or Lit in the fall. For the SAT-R, I got a 1590, but I'm just bad at taking the SAT. Everytime I take the test, my score increases, but I just don't seem to do well on that test despite my 4.3 GPA. I tried the ACT, and it was way easier, but I haven't received my scores yet. I heard that usually a score of 600 is solid and 700 is good - on a general scale for UCs, how does a 650 look in US History? I really thought I knew my material...

Oh, I got my ACT composite (although Writing has not been scored yet)...my score was a 24...

I am probably going to re-take and AIM for a 27.
