Hey guys! I am going to recommend a grammar book called A Writer’s Reference by Diana Hacker. I used this book in school this year and it has an amazing section about citing works, it has stellar grammar examples, and is just all around a great book. I know everyone who has this at my school brings it to college. Most people consider this their bible. The online section of the book is updated regularly and has quizzes online that explain the answers. I would REALLY recommend this book.

a 1600…oh goodness looks like im retaking it

@maiken1993- i know someone who on their first try received a score of 1600 then studied hard over the summer and the next time they got a 1900. So you have the next 2 months to help you.

anyone use direct hits or rocket review before taking the June SAT? or May SAT? your opinions on it?

thanks for the suggestion keeponreaching!! i am looking forward to owning it!! :)

Good Post. I got a 2020 on my first try in May but with just a 3.8 weighted GPA and Ivy level college expectations I gotta get to the 2200’s at least by Application time. I’ll try to help everyone as much as I can on this thread. Good Luck!

Thanks saroth!

I’m also going to be preparing over the summer in order to take it for the final time in October. I’ve taken it 3 times though with my first score being a 1840 and my 3rd and most recent attempt being a 2080. Also with top tier school aspirations I would like to break the 2200 goal. Good luck to everyone on here whether your goal is an 1800 or a 2400 just remember improvement is very possible.

I’m with you guys. I would totally kill for a 2000+…i did really really bad 1300. I will be working really hard this summer to get it 1700+.

I saw my scores earlier during the day and I am definitely not thrilled. So this summer will not be relaxing as Id hoped it would be, time to hit the books. again. But I need to study really hard, aiming for a 1900. And I could definitely work on the math section to improve my score.

What books are you using to study?? Are they helpful for you…

@fairytale01 Im going to buy Rocket Review, Direct Hits and Blue Book

My plan is to take another test in the blue book then find out my score again
then i would from that point use rocket review and direct hits everyday devoting an hour to each book or maybe more and at the end of july i would test myself in the bluebook to see if i went up or not, personally i saw people say use Barrons but i must agree that the questions are harder than the actual test
