I got a 740 on Math II and 780 on physics. I'm the top percentile of my grade so SATs screw you, you suck at being standardized. Anyway, what are my chances now for MIT and UCB and UCLA? =( Have I lost all hope?

I mean, those grades won’t absolutely ruin your chance of getting into a school, but a 740 on Math II at MIT might not be enough. From what I’ve heard, at least.

I also checked the percentile table of 2009. I got a 73% for Maths II and 85% for Physics, which is really bad… And I’m studying mathematics and physical science… Epic fail anyone? =( sosad…

Well, wait until they release the percentiles in 5 days (February 16th). I got an 800 on the January Math II and it seemed to be a pretty decent test, so the percentiles might be a little different than last year’s. Are you a junior or a senior?

If I am a junior I wouldn’t be ranting now would I?

Hey, you never know. Anyway, those scores aren’t terrible. =P Good luck.

It is terrible to my standards.

You know what? I am absolutely amazed at question 3 for physics. After seeing that kind of question, I am completely dumbfounded. Perhaps I am too dumb for American physics and mathematics… because I don’t understand what it wants to ask. Oh, I’m sure they have checked the work-ability of the test papers twice and thrice. =0

What was question 3 like?

Forget about it. It’s not important anymore. I’ve learnt my lesson: Standardized tests take your breath away.

wowwww i am so upset by my subject test scores. they are abysmal to say the least. worse than yours and REALLY going to hurt my chances.

^ Another living proof of how standardized tests can take your breath, or your life, away. Since, with bad scores, means bad colleges, means bad career, means bad life, means suicide. Simple as that. It’s incredible to look at how many people die each year because of SATs alone.

How many people die each year because of SATs?

It varies between countries. But I assure you, the number is many. To start with, not counting suicides, people overwork from studying, leading to stress, high blood pressure, and other cardiac diseases. SATs may inevitably lead to cancer.

In summary, SATs lowers the work force of a nation since death rate is increased. Therefore, economic growth will be hindered. Social unrest may also arise since there is grief over the deaths of family and friends who are working hard for the SATs. The continuous pointlessness in these failed standardized tests will ultimately lead to the epic battle between good and evil, and survivors will arise upon the ashes of Ragnarok, Armageddon, or World War 3, whatever you want to call it, since, it doesn’t matter anymore when you are at war, right?

lol. okay.

hey MrPropaganda, your scores aren’t bad, in fact, >700 for these subject tests is really good! Anyway, hope you won’t fret too much because the SAT is just one out of the many factors for college admissions, and yours is already competitive!

I’d give anything for your physics score. But you’re right, that Math II will hurt you. If you’re a junior then you have plenty of time to retake. I got an 800 w/o studying at all so I’m sure with a little studying you can get it.
