Bad SAT2s hurt?

December tests were bad bad bad (590 in chem and physics = ouch). But I had alright scores before (650, 680 in bio). I also took Math2c (got a 720...it was ok i suppose).

I am worried about my terrible December scores. I sent the scores because when I registered, I put Northwestern as a score recipient. Will this affect me? Or will Northwestern "superscore" and look away from my 590s? I was ill during my December test with pneumonia :(

My SAT1 and ACT scores are good. SAT1: 2250 (CR: 720, M: 740, W: 790), ACT: 33 (32 in science, if that helps any). I heard that Midwest schools prefer ACT too...

The SAT2 scores have solidified the fact that I'm probably going be rejected by the science programs I had originally intended to apply for...so I'm just curious of how the undergrad admission office will look at this. Northwestern is my top choice school.

In my opinion, I'd probably send in the ACT scores alone. Those SAT II scores could have potential to hurt you. Since they are not required (just recommended), then it won't hurt you to not send them. If you did send them in, I think it would do more harm than good. But that ACT score will most-likely get you in, I believe.

^^^^^

The OP said she already sent her scores, so NW will see the SAT II scores regardless of whether she wants them to or not. You'll be fine, don't stress over it.

Oh, I did not see that. Well, they'll see the ACT and the SAT I scores (and based on those scores I'm assuming you have a pretty good GPA). I'm sure you could get into NU.
