I am OOS and will be applying to L&S physics. I know the UCs don't allow SAT score choice, so I am wondering if bad SAT subject tests will weaken my chances of admission? I got 700 on math 2 and 610 on physics...

Also, I apologize if this post is in the wrong category.

Well I got into ChemE with a 670 on Chem and 770 on Math 2, but I was waitlisted first. I would try to get a better score if possible. I’m in-state btw

I got into ChemE as well, off the wait list. Also instate. I had a 630 on Math 2. UC’s care more about GPA, but do try to raise the physics score to 700+.

@mscott2757 @Lilliana330 thanks for the input! I am taking physics again this weekend, but if my score is still low (sub 700) will that make the rest of my application look weaker as well? Is there any way for admissions to not see my score?

@runorrun You could not report it on the application + hide it from official reports using Collegeboard’s Score Choice (I think it’s a $10 fee? $14?). UC’s don’t require SAT 2’s , so you won’t be penalized -specially since it’s just Letters and Science.
