Hey guys I'm new here but have been a long-time lurker and am incredibly worried about my SAT scores. I want to apply to JHU, Harvard, Tufts, Brown, Cornell and have the grades and the best ECs, but for some reason not the test scores. Do I still have a chance if I retake for better scores next year? Are these scores even close to being satisfactory for any Ivy?

SAT II:

Math II: 720
Chemistry: 720
US History: 740

SAT I: 2310

I know it's my first post and there are many of these threads, but just viewed my scores today after months and am very worried. Any and all help is very appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Are you kidding me?

ur worried??..okay then…

Very much so, why?

Are these scores actually decent?

In all honesty I have no idea what a “good” score is. So if I seem to appear as a braggart, I apologize.

Your concern over your SAT II scores has some foundation. Good scores, but for the schools you’re going for 750+ would be a safe bet.

As for your SAT I, I have trouble believing that you think that a 2310 is a “bad” score; be assured it’s not.

As a self-described “long-time lurker” I would expect you to have some idea of what a “good” score is. With that said, you’re scores are very impressive (with only your Math II score being relatively substandard) and they will not negatively affect you in Ivy League admissions.

You got a 2300 on your SAT? Dudeeeee, that is so bad, you are screwed!

Thank you Grey that is good to hear. Also, all I’ve seen as “good” scores (in most cases, atleast) are 800’s and everything else was deemed as sub-par.

Thank you too Challenged and I completely agree with you. I will retake and score 750+ on each.

I apologize for not making my self clear in the first post, but I added the reasoning score to see if someone would respond saying it compensated for what I thought where completely sub-par subject scores. It’s pleasing to know that they are “good” though, thank you.
