I'm currently a freshman in high school, and I didn't do so well my first semester. I was lazy and simply didn't do my work, but I've realized how stupid of decisions I made and am now maintaining a 4.0 GPA(4.66- weighted). I plan to keep steady As throughout my high school career. Last semesters grades are as follows...

Algebra I Hon: 94% A English I Hon: 73% C Team Sports I: 100% A AP Human Geography: 66% D AP Environmental Science: 59% F

I realize these are utterly awful, and I'm hoping that this phase won't disqualify me from getting into a good school such as Harvard, considering I will be maintaining an unweighted 4.0 from now on.

On a side note, my PSAT scores. I think my math should be this low considering I haven't even gotten to Geometry yet(I flunked Algebra last year, I was also lazy then).

^^ You just don’t understand humor when you read it!

Harvard’s 25th percentile SAT score is between 200 and 300 points higher then OP’s score. See: SATSCORES. No offense OP, but your SAT scores are comparable to that of The University Of Texas at El Paso, ranked #226 on the above list.

Academically you aren’t off to a great start…if you’re aiming for Harvard then you should shoot for a SAT score of 2250 or higher. If you were to get straight As your gpa would still be low by Harvard standards (and Ds and Fs are VERY bad for top tier schools, even Cs are not good). Nothing’s impossible, but you really need to step it up to have a shot. I hope you also have good ECs too!

^^hahah. George Bush, with all of his families connections, got into Yale with ‘C’ average. Neither school accepts a student with D’s or F’s. That’s the reality – whether or not this thread is real or not!

Well the OP is just a freshman. I’d assume that the SAT score will increase (maybe significantly if the OP is willing to put in work) and if the OP manages to get a straight 4.0 then the cumulative gpa will not be that bad.
