So...reaches, matches? I've got some safeties that pretty much accept about 60% of my school's graduating class every year, so I think I'm good with them. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

bumppppppppppppppp

gwu is a big reach for u

Any particular reason? I didn't think my stats were THAT bad for it...

What about the others?

Bump??????

gwu you need an sat of 2000 min. your stats are good. I advise you to take the sat again and make sure you study. preferably baron's beacause it is hard.
The rest of the colleges i will guarentee that you are in.
Good luck!

Thanks for the explanation. I'm definitely going to study for the October SAT. You're saying I'm definitely in for NYU???

No, I don't think you're definitely in at NYU, but you stand a decent shot. As for George Washington, I have no idea what FixedAxle is talking about, I've heard of kids with 1800's and 3.6's getting accepted, according to the Princeton Review, their combined SAT score range is 1800-2060, so I think you stand a great shot.

Allrighty, thanks!

Oh, I forgot I'm also looking at University of Rochester. How're my chances for that? And what about UMD? I think I'm good for Delaware...

Bumpity bump!

Also, can anyone else tell me their input on NYU? I always hear different things about it.

I hear, "Oh, you're fine," which I don't believe.
And then there's, "You've got a good shot," which would rock!...but I still don't believe it.
And then, "You've got a decent shot," which is better than no shot at all, and I might believe this one.
And finally, "It's a slight reach." and "It's a high reach." I'd expect both of those. So which is it???!

Ikat, since you have safeties in place, you are solid. Your reaches are not out of reach. You have a decent shot at NYU. It's what a reach should be for you. I know a young lady who got into GW last year with stats similar to yours, nothing in her app was outstanding to overcome anything, so you do have a good shot there, in my opinion. Since you are not local to NYU, you would have a slight edge that way. I think you have a good list of schools.

Woohoo for decent shot!! What could I still improve on for NYU? Obviously the Subject Tests need to go up. How much would anyone say they count for, anyhow? I just don't think I'm good at them. And if I got my SAT into...say the 2000's, or even to a 2100, would I stand a better shot? Plus, I haven't checked yet, but I think my GPA might have been upped to a 3.8 after this year. That's got to sound better than a 3.77.

Good luck. You'll certainly need it.

That's helpful...
