Bad Subject Test Scores? Need advice...

So I got my subject test scores back today and they aren't looking to awesome. I got a 710 in US history, which I actually guess is pretty respectable, but also got a 610 in literature which is less than thrilling.

I've already taken the SAT once and scored around a 2040 which I am pretty happy with, but want to take it two more times in order to superscore the best of everything. I'm taking the June test and planned to take the one in October, but after getting my subjects back today I'm thinking I should probably use the October date to retake them.

I'm just feeling a little stressed out because that puts a lot more pressure on my June test (which is only a week away) and I'm wondering whether I've chosen the wrong test. A bunch of my friends have been doing the ACT, which they say is not only easier, but also gives them separate dates to take the subject tests.

And a LAST reason why I've wanted to take the SAT again in the fall is that I've heard that a lot of students mature a lot between the summer of junior and senior year and just simply do a lot better on testing. (Or that could be just complete ********.)

I would just be open for some advice on what to do from here...Should i take the SAT one more time and then switch to studying for the ACT so I can have two separate test dates in the fall? Should I just forget about retaking subject tests?

Thanks guys!

I wouldn’t retake US unless you feel like you can do better. there is really great test prep on spark notes if you want to look at that. Obviously you do well on the SAT so I would stick to it. I mean take a practice ACT and if you get a 30 or above then I would take it, but if not the SAT could be your thing! I personally like the SAT a lot better, I find it easier. Everyone is different.
Also, what colleges do you want to go to? because many don’t require subject tests.
