This is why colleges don't want kids seeing their recs. Frankly, I think there are many kids who think their top 1% who have teachers who don't agree. If it's already sent, do get another, but only if you KNOW the teacher holds you in very high regard or it could backfire.

i agree with hmom5. i was satisfied with all my top5% checks, though i would have much preferred top 1%, i understand the rational reasoning behind it

Thanks for all the advice. I appreciate it so much!

A sidenote: This teacher uses Comic Sans for EVERYTHING! Class assignments, online documents, typed instructions, typed tests, typed anything. Why?! It's like she does not know other fonts exist.

She is also not very well-liked. I do not know any person who is okay with her teaching style and personality. I'm not even okay with her kindergarten methods and overbearing religious ideals influencing the classroom either (a very religious Mormon, and had Yes on 8 sticker posted in the classroom). But I put all that aside because we get along well and I had thought she could attest to my leadership and activities in the French Club, Fr honors society, classroom etc etc etc sorry to go on and on explaining this. Ah! It's my own fault for asking her. Should've asked a teacher I was confident in instead of a "hit or miss" situation, and should've thought about this decision more thoroughly. Bummer.

I was okay with the checkmarks for the most part - didn't really care for any section except the academic achievement which she gave me lower than the rest of the massive list of qualities in the Common App form. I found this one check mark to be inconsistent with her recommendation and my performance in her class. Nonetheless! It's already done and there's nothing I can do about it.
