"Bad test-takers"

Yeah, the military is the perfect place for people that struggle under pressure.

Yes, though I usually go by socialist, since that has to come first.

Not to mention the taboo against the word ‘Communist.’ Oddly enough, I know socialists who don’t believe in communism. None of them have read the Communist Manifesto, though.

@Klinks05: I guess the “liberal agenda” of psychology disgusts you, your father, his father, and his father as well, no?

By the way, Albert Einstein failed the entry exam at ETH Zurich. What if he had been shoved in a vocational school or the military? Edison’s teacher called him “addled.” Put him on the front lines?

The Communist Manifesto has a section specifically dedicated to refuting Socialism. Basically it’s just a way for the bourgeoisie, like BillyMc, to pretend to care for the proles just so that they don’t start a revolution can get the true freedom they deserve.

Not that I care, but there’s a taboo against “socialist” too. And “socialists” who don’t follow Marx generally tend to just be in favor of ultra-liberal, reformist social democracies, not an actual socialist workers’ republic.

Actually, it refutes the “socialism without communism” crowd (see above). And haha, I’m hardly bourgeoisie. Socialist revolution is what I’m here for.

@BillyMc: True, but I find the taboo much greater against ‘communist.’ That could be my location; we’re still reeling from McCarthyism, in which the word ‘communist’ was used much more often than the word ‘socialist.’ Your description fits those ‘socialists’ perfectly.

I just see Glenn Beck and the “Tea Party” crowd using socialist a lot more than communist, so that’s all I’m drawing it from.

My favorite part about the “Tea Party” is that they call someone a socialist/communist and a facist.

@ichheissemann

I’m sorry, but my post was a joke.

@Klinks05: My sincerest apologies! Unfortunately, I can’t edit my rant out.

We are becoming a “Tea Party” stronghold, so the bias will reverse.

That’s because Obama’s a socialist and not a communist. It’s just a matter of fact.

Damn, I wish he was a socialist. Unfortunately, he is for capitalism, albeit a more regulated version.

He’s a black Hitler commie born in Kenya, don’t ya know?

You forgot Islamic terrorist, hater of America, and my favorite, Anti-Christ.

Right, he listens to everything his “radical” black Christian reverend says, but is also a secret Muslim.

I agree with OP.

Every thread I post in eventually evolves into a communist revolution.

I also agree with OP. I do realize that some people anxiety disorders but too many people use this excuse. People who are actually smart score well on tests.

^
It took 4 pages for someone to understand my simple point.

4 pages.

I have diagnosed anxiety issues, and for me testing is either a hit or miss. I’ll either ace it, or I’ll get so nervous I can’t focus. The more prepared I convince myself I am, the higher I score.

@Duster

Nobody understood your point because there is nothing to understand about it. It makes no sense. Most of the people who are lazy and perform poorly on tests do not use this as an excuse because they don’t care enough about school to make excuses. YES, I frequently have heard people say “I wonder how well I could do if I tried,” but this is quite different from what you are suggesting.

Similarly, I am somewhat of an idiot, and I got a 35 on my ACT. Tests are truly no measure of intelligence. (Unless you consider a 35 a bad score. DO you?)

When did this stop being about communist revolution? :/
