I looooooooove bagels. Especially with cream cheese!

Yeah, it’s not good to eat a “ton” of bagels a day. The starch will cause you to pack on the pounds. I wouldn’t suggest once a day, only if you stay active. If you stay active, go to the gym, run, and whatever then eating only one bagel a day shouldn’t be so bad.

But they are so gooood!

No, bagels don’t have much fat, but they do have a lot more carbohydrates than regular bread because they are so dense. Some websites suggest to think of one bagel as five slices of bread.

Hmm. I am eating blueberry bagels that are 220 calories, toasted and with smart balance. I alternate between that and whole wheat english muffins with jelly. I have been losing weight steadily so I am not too concerned.

Here are how bagels stack up in my food pyramid:

Vegetables
/
Dairy
/
Meat, Fish, Carbs
/
Bagels, Pizza (they do not mix. Pizza Bagels are a culinary abortion.)
/
Tobacco/Chocolate

Agreed x 10000000000000.

Anyway, yeah, bagels do have a lot of carbs and calories, but they’re better than many things you could be eating in college. Try alternating them out with some healthier stuff, or even adding healthy foods to them to fill you up more. [I usually make bagel sandwiches with a slice of provolone and a ton of veggies, and that fills me up for at least half the day.]

So you primarily consume tobacco and chocolate eh?

Fat content doesn’t make you fat. Calories don’t make you fat. Eating carbohydrates and sugar does. At least from what I’ve seen, and what most modern research is showing.

Meat & Animal Fat
V
Vegetables
V
Dairy
V
Grains and sugars (bagel, breakfast cereal, ice cream)

The only reason I put meat above vegetables, is you cannot live off vegetables alone without brain damage, while you can with meat (scurvy does not occur if you eat enough fat proportional to the meat). Also, due to the way our bodies work, meat and fat is naturally more satisfying to hunger.

Eh I like how Michael Pollan puts it. “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”

And by food he means actual food, not a bunch of processed and refined garbage.

hahahahaaha

i am tasty tho, cant deny it

Specifically, exclusively Nat Sherman and Lindt chocolate.

Also, I would put [quality] beer and whiskey on the same level as bagels.

Now that’s a diet I could stick to! Sadly I haven’t had a good smoke in days because of this cold :(

I certainly endorse it. The sweet and robust tones of the blend and maduro go really nicely with a mild blended scotch or bourbon and some dark chocolate.

Lol (10 char)
