Baits II Coman House Question

My D is in Baits II - The Coman House and is assigned a “two room double with shared bath”. Does that mean she has
two rooms, one a sitting room one a bedroom with a roommate and also share a bath with another double dorm or does that just mean there are two dorm rooms with two people each and all four share the bath? Anyone familiar with that set up?

It’s the latter. Most rooms in Baits are two dorm rooms with two people each that are connected with a bathroom.

I can’t remember how hers was described, but my D was in Coman freshman year and had the former. There is a lot of variation from room to room (some ARE one large double room with a shared bath) but my D loved their set-up, and it was pretty spacious. In each “half” (2-room double), the hallway door enters into one room (the “sitting room”). There is a door on one side of the room that leads to the second room (“bedroom”) and a door on the other side that leads to the shared bath. The double on the other side is the mirror image.

Note when we arrived the rooms were set up with one set of furniture (bed, armoir, desk, dresser) in the bedroom and one in the sitting room. All four girls (both doubles) decided this was impractical and rearranged to put both beds in the one room. Bring some basic tools, as I seem to recall that you need to disassemble the bed rail to get the one bed through the connecting door.

FYI, my D and her roomie put the beds and dressers in the bedroom and the armoires and desks in the sitting room. They did not have a TV, and they felt this setup gave them some roominess in both spaces. They had area rugs in both, and they fit a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and shelves for food in the sitting room. They did not bunk their beds, but stored stuff underneath.

In the other double, the girls crammed their beds, dressers, and armoires in the bedroom. They didn’t bunk either, so it was really tight but livable. They had a large TV in the sitting room, and set it up with a big rug and comfy chairs (plus their desks).

Hope this helps! I hope your D enjoys Coman, and fingers crossed that she gets this set-up.

Thank you for your reply. My daughter is on the fourth floor and I was informed that there are no elevators. Move in day may be a rough one. Any suggestions?

I have to say you have a very creative user name… that is a good one!

@themomhere - There are move-in helpers to assist on move-in day. The helpers loaded everything from our SUV into a huge bin that they wheeled over to the building. They also helped haul boxes, etc up - we made 2-3 trips each. As much as you can, pack in manageable boxes, suitcases, bins, crates, laundry baskets. We didn’t have anything huge, but our SUV was full. My D was on third or fourth floor, but carrying it all up was much easier than I anticipated.
My user name’s a misnomer now as youngest D (the one at Michigan) just turned 20. She went back today to move apartments and see her friends. Sad she went back early, but glad she handles her own moving now!

Interestingly, my Facebook post from D’s move-in day just popped up in my memories because it was two years ago today. I described her room exactly as mentioned in the OP - two room double with shared bath.

@MomOf2TeenGirls That happens to me too. I just saw my D’s old dorm pictures on facebook.
