Anybody feel it in Irvine? Rather a big one too - 7.2, although the epicenter was on the far side.

Do you often get to experience small tremors living in Irvine?being some miles west of the San Andreas fault I would assume UCI would be far enough not to face something super catastrophic in the event of The Big One, but still subject to plenty of smaller earthquakes at frequent intervals?

Nope, I was on the road when the recent quake happened. The other big one was during the summer, and the epicenter was actually pretty close to where I was at (Brea).

But I’m sure everyone in Orange County felt this quake, just maybe not the people on the road.

For the whole year I was here, I haven’t felt any tremors. There was supposedly a small quake 4- at like 4 in the morning, but I didn’t feel it. Other than that, its about it.

In the event of the Big One, let’s just say SoCal is screwed!

Yeah I felt it when I was in my room doing hw! It was weird i felt like I was on a boat and it was rocking gently… Felt kinda nice actually

Oh yea the one that was like at 4 in the morning, I was actually studying chemistry and I thought someone fat upstairs jumped. Until I saw all these fb status updates from my friends from ucla… LOL

Other than that, I haven’t felt anything else when I’ve been in Irvine

i felt it and I was like 40 miles north of Irvine… (LA)

I didn’t feel anything. I was on the freeway to check UCI out. lol
