Balancing act?

How do you guys do it? Clubs, volunteer work, SAT prep, AP classes, sports, part-time jobs, etc. etc. all while maintaining A's in all your classes and having time to relax with friends. And do any of you actually get enough sleep? I've been getting 5-6 hours the past week and I'm completely exhausted!

How do you prioritize and get your work down? I've been so stressed about junior year, yet I know there are thousands of kids who are doing just as much, even more, than I am without getting burned out?

Share your tips/experiences with me please :)

I survived off 5-6 (more like 5) hours of sleep in middle school. I can’t help you with the rest of this stuff because I’m not experienced enough to give good advice. But, you CAN survive off little sleep, though it is unhealthy.

Honestly, this year just started so if been doing everything, but last year, I would just do a designated amount of homework, leaving a little to finish at lunch, bus ride, etc. I actually finish my homework more quickly during sports seasons because I have less unorganized free time. SAT’s… I’m registered for Subject tests in october, and I’m going to do some studying every weekend till then.

Oh, and I usually get 8 hours of sleep: 10:30-6:30. The key is not to get too lazy and leave to much to do the next day. Last year, I did everything besides AP Euro History at home, and did that during the day.

I usually finish most of pre-cal in class, but I don’t have any blow off classes where I can just do my hw. And physics and Apush this year are killing me! I don’t know how I’m gonna survive

Clubs- Don’t spend time on them outside of school.
Volunteer work- Weekends only.
SAT prep- Didn’t spend a second on this.
AP classes- Do most homework at school or on the way to and from. There is some I have to do at home but it almost never exceeds an hour in any given day.
Sports- Only a few times a week, and for an hour each session.
Part-time jobs- Don’t have one.
Maintaining A’s in all your classes- This falls under AP classes, as most of my classes are AP. The others are even easier.
Having time to relax with friends- Outside of school, this is usually only on weekends where I’m otherwise not busy.
Sleep- Around 9 hours a day.
