Hi guys,

I’m going to be enrolled at BM this fall and I’m very interested in joining a team at Bryn Mawr. However, I know that the workload at BM is extremely intense and my first concern is the ability to balance being on a team with hw (and work study).

How often do athletes practice? play games? travel to other schools to compete?

Input of any kind will be appreciated! Please respond! Thank you!

haha, i just noticed the thread title should be "balancing being on a team with BM workload" but im sure ya'll understand what i mean :)

any comments, replies pleaseeee

Why don't you e-mail the coach?

yes, i have emailed the coach but i would like to know from a current student athlete's perspective :)

hey :),

i'm on the bmc tennis team- it's actually my favorite thing about bryn mawr! i think being on the team, having the structure there w/ practice times (and the outlet of the sport itself!) really helps get you focused and organized, rather than keeping you busy... there's tons of time to do work, and if you know you have practice everyday from 4-6 or so, then ya set it aside and figure out a time to do it..rather than..if you have the whole day, thinking it'll get done sometime..i know for us, we practice m-f 4:30-6:30, and in our real season matches take up a good chunk of time.. some schools take a couple of hours to get to + game/match time.. i've loved having the sport to make my days and you get really close with your teammates- it's a great experience :)!
