i'm currently a junior, and my sat score is the worst part of my application. i got in the 1700s my first time, and will probably get in the 1800s next time. what would u guys reccomend to do to balance out my app? i have a 3.833 uw gpa and i am currently in the top 2.7% of my class out of 623 kids (ranked 17). I have A LOT of extracurriculars, leadership, community service, etc. do u think that will be enough to balance out my entire application??

I think you should be fine. Standardized tests are not everything, even though they do count more than they should. You look like you're perfect in every other area, though.

Aim to get it up to 1900-1950. Anything below that and you will be fighting an uphill battle.

I would suggest working on your essays and making them outstanding. You could also consider taking the ACT's.

I agree. Get into the 1900's and make sure your essays and recs are pretty good, and I wouldn't worry about a thang.

WOW, welcome to my world! I got 1700 ON THE DOT my first try, then 1870, then finally 1970.. hahahha except i had a 4.0 applying, and IM happy to say I got admitted to USC already :).. i balanced mines out with a GRIP of club leadership, 4 year athlete, volunteering, and working.

you'll be fine.. as long as u get it up to be 1950+

what do you guys think about someone like me, a 3.6 unweighted (hardest courseload) and a 1870 SAT?

I've got sickkkk EC's and great SAT II's though..

50/50 stressed0ut
