and whoever gets my room from my freshman year will probably be very happy…i had my own (well, mine and my roommate) bathroom with a toilet, sink and shower.

^ i think i know what room you were in! my friend had a room like that in 3-2

Hey, so I just found out today that I was assigned to a double in balch. Anyone know how BALCH 3125 ?

Anyone know about room 5226? It’s a single, I just got my assignment today

hey my room is 5444 (hence, 5th floor, 4th unit, and a single)…is that good or bad?

So, if my room is 6273, what does that mean? Is there a floor plan or something somewhere that says where the rooms are? Any ex Balch students out there with any hints about my room? All I really know is that it is a single

Well, it’s on the very top floor. It’s only the fifth floor, if you enter from the archway. There’s an elevator that goes to the third floor (room numbers starting with 4) then there’s stairs to yours. Apparently rooms in the first and second or second and third units (can’t remember which) are bigger than usual for Balch, which are normally pretty darn big. There’s a facebook group at: [Post room numbers! | Facebook](Redirecting...)

my room number is 4156 (single)…does this mean that im on the 3rd floor in the 1st unit?

Can anyone share info about 6-4? There doesn’t seem to be many girls in that unit from what I can see on Facebook.

~Earilmadith

So you are saying then that I am on the sixth floor, 2nd unit room 73 right? and your also saying that the rooms in the 2nd unit are even bigger than usual? That would be amazing if that is the case.

if anyone knows how to do this could you look up who is living in rooms 1674 and 1673? thanks!

I have seen some stuff referencing full length mirrors on the backs of closet doors and even something about small mirrors in the room as part of the furniture.

Can any current or previous Balch residents confirm if this is accurate and if it is in every room or only in some rooms.

Just trying to figure out if I need to bring a mirror or not.

^Do you by any chance know if all/most rooms have closets? I was under the impression that the only space we’d have for storage would be a bureau, heh.

my understanding is that every room has a closet and that the singles have two closets. one that is an actual closet and the other that has drawers in it. I am sure there will be some exceptions. There seem to be a lot of rooms that have exceptions, probably due to their location in a strange spot or something

anyone know how Balch 3273 is? All I know is that it’s a single…

Found some old pics online of the inside of a Balch Hall dorm room.

[Pics from trip and NY 56k beware - SEMB Muscle Car Club](http://www.sembmusclecarclub.com/forums/pub/8249-pics-trip-ny-56k-beware.html?)

Once you get to the page, just scroll down a little to see them.

I am guessing by the lines of the ceiling, this must be a top floor room. I can’t believe how big it is. I sure hope my room is that big.

It looks like convenient stuff… Better than what else I’ve seen in dorm rooms anyway. The table with the drop leaves you could probably actually eat at! Woo!

That’s all I could squeeze out of Flickr.

Ooh! If you go on the Class of 2013 website, [Class of 2013 - Cornell University](http://classof2013.cornell.edu) and log in, go to housing on the lower left, Balch, and then picture tab along the front, there’s a bunch of the lounges and a few rooms and such, plus you can see your hallmates!

I found this site this morning

[Campus Life Facilities Maintenance Request](http://tma.campuslife.cornell.edu/request.html)

I guess this is where you go if you want to request your bed to be lofted and other stuff like that. Anyway, if you go through the steps, you will get to a list of all the rooms in Balch. If you find your room, you will find out if it is a small, regular or large single. Doesn’t say a lot about it, but that is better than walking in on move-in day to find out you have a small single, I guess.

Thanks, suzie! Looks like I have a “regular” single…still not totally sure what that means in terms of size haha, but it’s better than a small single I guess?
