Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music

Does anyone know anything about Baldwin-Wallace’s Conservatory of Music program? Like how good it is, what the acceptance rate might be, etc. Any information on this would be helpful. Thanks.

It’s a credible program with decent faculty. Pretty campus in a small town, nice facilities. What are you looking for in a school and what attracts you to BW?

I’m considering BW right now because it’s close to where I live. Other than that I have no idea about what I’m looking for in schools and what other schools I would be interested in.

@celloplayer99 you have posted several new questions about cello programs recently. Are you planning to apply and audition this year or next year? Just asking because the process takes some planning in terms of preparing audition rep and prescreens in addition to just the process of submitting applications. I have known of several students who have applied to BW for musical theater, it seems to be somewhat known in this area for that but I’m not familiar with its instrumental music program.

So it looks like you would like to stay in the midwest from your previous post and this one, looking at DePaul, BW, Miami University and UM. Some other schools to look at with well developed music programs in the midwest are Butler and DePauw in Indiana, St. Olaf in Minnesota and Lawrence in WI.

@cellomom2 I am planning on applying and auditioning next year as it is too late this year to start applying/auditioning. I also need to take the SAT and/or ACT and talk to my private teacher and parents about my plan to study music in college. Thanks!

In addition to what cellomom2 suggested, I would suggest looking at Luther College in IA and Gustavus in MN. I went to Luther (graduated a year and a half ago), and I have heard good things about the music program at Gustavus.
