Prospective Ball State Students,

This post is to give you an update on the status of our 2012 class. Students who have been accepted into the 2012 acting and music theatre classes were contacted last week. We will be contacting waiting list students NEXT week. If you do not hear from us by March 17th, please contact Andrea Sadler at (amsadler@bsu.edu) to get an update on your status. Please note that we HAVE moved to the waiting list each of the past five years, so do not give up hope if you have not yet been contacted.

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Ball State continues to recruit and graduate exceptional students. I have just returned from New York where our graduating BFA students and close to 40 underclassmen took part in our annual NY Showcase. Over 70 industry professionals attended the Showcase including Telsey Casting, Tara Rubin Casting, Binder Casting, and agents such as Bauman, Redanty, and Shaul, Buckwald, The Gage Group, and CESD. Each student who took part in the Showcase received tremendous interest from these professionals. Further, students enjoyed workshops with Joel Grey, Norbert Leo Butz, and continuing guest faculty member Sutton Foster. Students also attended Anything Goes and enjoyed a post show talkback organized by Sutton. Finally, alumni in New York hosted students and helped them integrate themselves into the professional world of New York.

Wishing all students great success as they begin this final step in their college decision making process. Remember, it is very important that you trust your gut instinct, talk to current students in the program, and visit the campus when you can. With so many great schools across the country, it is imperative that you get as much information as possible so that you can make informed decisions about you exciting future!

Good Luck!
