Letters continue to go out and students continue to be contacted. If you do not receive something by next Monday, I would contact the Department to see where we are with your file.

Good Luck!

Your articles on TMU are spectacular. Thank you for letting us get the word out on BSU as well!

I have applied to the Musical Theatre program at Ball State for this upcoming fall. I just recently was informed that there is a dance portion to the audition. I can manage myself pretty well with singing and acting, but I have never had intensive learning experiences with dancing other than our school plays. How difficult is the dancing portion and what all is expected from the dance portion? Thank you!
Does anyone have experience or knowledge of the Theatrical Studies option at Ball State? My D was redirected there and it actually looks like something she may be interested in. She loves to perform, but also loves directing, writing, editing, etc. Just wondering if this is a worthwhile program she should consider or just some thing they offer the kids who want to re-audition the following year. Also, are the Theatrical Studies students allowed to audition for shows?
Hello, @MomIsSupportive ,
Thanks for your wonderful question! The Theatrical Studies major is one of the most distinguished and unique aspects of Ball State’s department of Theatre and Dance! The major allows for students with an passion for theatre and an intense desire to work in the theatrical field to choose their focus and perhaps explore multiple facets of theatre. Students who join the Theatrical Studies major essentially get to pick and choose the focus of their four years of study within our department with the guidance of our wonderful faculty. Some students use the Theatrical Studies major to focus on performance, and some do choose to re-audition for the performance BFA degree studies in the November of their freshman year. Other students have used the Theatrical Studies degree to focus in various areas of study such as Box Office Management, Musical Theatre Direction, Dramaturgy, Playwriting, Casting, etc. In other words, the sky is the limit in terms of what a student can study and explore with the Theatrical Studies degree!
@BSUjeff if we have not heard anything from BSU should we call? We auditioned in Los Angeles. Thanks!!
