Bama Dining and Meal Plan info.... :)

Krazie, I am not surprised at all to hear that about Dean Sharpe. I’ve only met him in my few visits to Bama, but I got the impression he is an incredibly kind and caring man. We’re still thinking about Thanksgiving visit home, but we just booked a very cheap flight for son to come home for fall break. Thanks to his AP credit and new schedule, he can come home Thursday afternoon, there’s a shuttle available at a good time, so he’ll be fine missing Thanksgiving for the Auburn game.

Heads up to anyone who uses Southwest, there’s really good rates available right now through Thursday, if you want to book an inexpensive flight for break times.

Sorry to derail the thread, but thought I’d stick that info in, too.

^ Thanks for the SW mention, I just booked a flight home for Christmas, can be changed since it’s SW, but it makes me feel better! :)

Hoping to use the SW deal, unfortunately its only good for Tues., Wed. flights.
Krazie - now that you mention it, I recall dad mentioning that after their visit in April and meeting with Dr. Sharpe. He was impressed with the caring attitudes of Deans Sharpe, Karr and Dr. Jackson. Definitely an impression I’ve developed about everyone connected with Bama.

With regard to Southwest, even if you can’t use their Click special, always check out their Wanna Get Away fares. I don’t believe my fall trip home was a special. It was just a regular Wanna Get Away fare. But I was early enough in booking that I was able to get one of the lower rates. These will still be available up to a certain point, but the lowest price seats usually go very quickly. And remember, if you cancel, you can use the Travel Funds for another trip. That’s how we got to go to Seattle. When our Midwest college visits fell through, we cashed in our unused Travel Funds for a nice family vacation, using another low cost Wanna Get Away fare.

Oops, I’m sorry. Totally derailed this thread.
