Bama Softball Question

We plan to visit S during the weekend of February 22, which is the Bama Bash for the women’s softball team. Both of my daughters play HS softball and are on summer travel teams, so needless to say I am not sure if they are more excited to see their brother OR see the National Champs play!!! Also, my dad (S grandpa) is flying in from Tucson to see his “perfect” grandson and tour the amazing campus. He is an ex-baseball player and loves to watch his granddaughters play…I am sure he will be amazed by the UA softball players!! Anyway, two questions for you knowledgeable CC posters…

How difficult is it to get the $5 general admission tickets? Is this something we do on gameday, or is there a way to pre-order tickets for will-call?

I am STILL in search of the perfect hotel near campus…no “fanciness” required, just clean and relatively inexpensive.

Thanks in advance for your help everyone. Roll Tide!!!

Not sure about the softball ticket question but for a “no fancy” inexpensive hotel try Home Towne Suites ( near Target and the mall, 2 buildings the suites building is newer and nicer) https://res.travlynx.com/BBE/page2.aspx?propertyID=2146&langID=1&checkin=02%2F22%2F2013&nights=2&rooms=1&adults=1&child1=0&bed=0&smoking=0&usecache=true</a>
or the Greystone Inn (15 miles from T-town toward Bham) but an easy quick drive…http://www.greystoneinns.com/</a></p>

We stayed at the Home Towne Suites last Fall and already have it booked for this coming Fall for a weekend. It is not fancy but clean. We resereved a suite that had a seperate bedroom w/ queen bed, living area had a King bed in an alcove area and a sleeper sofa, kitchen, and 2 bathrooms. There are no amenities and no smalll toilitries included and the bathroom fixtures are not the newest but are clean. Depending on the events going on Home Towne Suites does have a min night stay.

What is “Bama Bash”? That is the same weekend as Panhellenic Preview weekend and we will be there. Hotels may already be tight as a lot of girls and their moms/families will be in town for Preview.

The Hampton Inn on Harper Lee Drive is very nice. There is a free breakfast in the morning.
