<p>I am wondering if participating in band counts towards the free elective requirements. Is there a maximum number of band credits that can be counted as free electives?</p>
<p>My son just finished his second year at Alabama. He participated in the marching band twice, pep band and concert band one semester each. None of these counted for anything except ‘electives’. They were all one credit classes. And I will mention, some were very time intensive. I remember reading somewhere that they could not be used for the fine arts elective. Now I can’t remember where that was. Anyway, maybe things have changed but that is his situation. He is an engineering major but loves music. He is looking forward to marching band again in the fall.</p>
