Well, I hate band class with a passion. The class itself is too stressful and the teacher pushes his students too much. However, I do like the EC's that come with band class, such as: jazz band, pep band, KV band, and playing at concerts. It is in my mind, however, that I can convince him to allow me to participate in those EC's even if I were not in band class because I am a trombonist and those are scarce in our school's music program. But then again, I won't be able to participate as greatly in those EC's because I am not part of the band class.

However, I also am considering taking sociology instead of band class. I cannot take both because the two classes occupy the same slot. The subject fascinates me, and I think that perhaps my future job may incorporate aspects of this subject. But; this also requires for me to take many tests (I am already very busy with the drama program which typically takes up 6-10 hours a week -_-) and it may induce more stress than band class.

As you can see, there are disadvantages and advantages to taking either classes. I am now just wondering if colleges prefer either one? A more academic class such as sociology, or a more artsy thing like band class? I am going to be a junior; I have already taken band class for 2 years now.

Thanks. =)
