Thanks!!! :DDDD

I really hope I can get some actual business experiance. Although I love working with kids, I really hope the YMCA internship isnt just me hanging out with kids. I really hope to be able to help with administrative duties and such

has anyone from new jersey heard anything yet? or know when we might?
Thanks!

This is from 2012 folks reporting when they got a call :

Orange County - April 2nd
LA Market - April 3rd - applicant got a call to see if she was interested
Delaware - April 4th
Tampa - April 6th
Austin - April 9th
Michigan - April 10th
Dallas , East Bay market- April 11th
Jacksonville , Jersey- April 12th

Atlanta - April 16th
Puget Sound - April 18th
Orlando - April 24th

Hope this helps with the anxiety, of course this doesn’t mean this year they call around the same date/time.

Gah…Puget Sound! So nervous  Good luck everyone!

Thanks yetanotherid for organizing the data! (: that was very helpful

So anyone heard any news lately?

Oh and do you guys think that the internship can work with me if I will be attending college this summer?

Its supposed to be a 35 hour per week internship for 8 weeks. But if you have the work ethic and time management skills, then totally go for it!

Im trying to manage 4 other internships and (hopefully) another 2 week study abroad scholarship, my own nonprofit activities, college apps, and some community college courses along with BoA and I THINK its possible…or somewhat at least?
Okay, i hope its possible. But if i think its possible to do all of this, then attending college mite be somewhat possible as well! However, u will have to take 5 days off of ur college classes, because the week in DC is MANDATORY (at least thats what the lady whos in charge of this said)

DC market results are out. The program needs 35 hours a week. Did you mean evening classes/online classes or between 9 to 5 you have to be in school/college. In any case hard to tell, you just need to ask.

Most likely evening classes

Just got the BoA papers in the mail today (half soaked if i must say due to all the snow VA is getting). I thought u got $5000. Its not even close to that :(

mann… I wish id heard about this earlier  NEXT YEAR FOR SURE :)

Sent from my LG-VS700 using CC

WOW Keely. 4 other internship Plus Study Abroad Plus college courses Plus non-profit activities ? Are you serious ? hats off
How much do they( BOA) pay ?

Looking at the amount of hours each of those activities are going to take, I guess im going to have to scale it down to 2/3 internships. Im hoping to still be able to do community college classes tho. And im applying for a study abroad scholarship so idk if ill get in. And if I do get in, I still hope ill be able to do it and that the internship scheduale will allow me to do this study abroad scholarship. But i guess I can ask them at the orientation in April haha

Its my nonprofit so regardless I have to do that. Ill be planning activities, fundraising, and marketing it this summer but I have my volunteers to help me along the way.

I already got into a few internships that are work from home so I hope i can do those and BoA. One of them requires me to travel to an office, so that might not go so well
Plus ill be a senoir next year, so I better start on college apps.
Heres hoping! Im also trying to do some evening classes for CC since i feel like that would be the best time for me to do them.

10 hours a week x 35 hours per week x 8 weeks = 2800$

Keely - just because of people like you I am never coming to CC again !!! j/k. You impress me. You made me realize I could do more. Good luck with summer

Holy crp i saw the first part of your post "just because of people like you I am never coming to CC again " and i was like “*** I really suck, i feel horrible” but then I read the rest of it and I felt a lot better haha
Nah, my grades suck and my SAT score is alright. My school has major grade deflation so im hoping itll compensate somewhat for the sucky gpa.
Actually, CC along with the hyper competitive area that is Northern Virginia really pushed me to do more things, both in my community and in my school. Hope you get in for BoA!!!

@Ruizz
are you doing community college classes?

@keely613 i feel like you are gonna be super duper busy this summer. wow!

Its nice to be busy. Makes me feel efficient

Theres a facebook group for all the BoA applicants, since checking college confidential (and finding the right BoA thread) can be a pain.
