What bank should my son a new freshman open an account with. He will need access to an ATM machine on the Coral Gables campus and for other banking activities. Which bank or banks is the most student friendly?

We used the bank right on campus at the University Credit Union. We opened an account there and our s got an ATM card that he used on campus to withdraw money.
Here is a link to more info about banking at UM.

i use bank of america. the atms are right on campus, and there are bank of americas near my home so i have easy access and dont get charged a bunch of atm fees.

Where is the Bank of America? I used google earth to find a credit union and i Found it (I think). The credit union I spotted is on Red Rd right next to the University Village apartments. is that right?

The credit union is right in the middle of the campus near sbarros and the Storm Surge Cafe, not far from the bookstore.

bank of america the actual bank is not on cmpus, the atms are located outside the UC, the bank itself is across the street on US1

S also went with Bank of America. We have branches here and it is very easy for us to transfer $ into his account if needed. Upperclassmen had advised us to use BOA in case S ever decided to move off campus. There are many, many BOAs in the area, but the only Credit Union office and atm is on campus.

Mahoney also has an ATM in an alcove right off the lobby, near the mailboxes. I don't believe you can deposit there, it's strictly cash out. We are also BofA customers and it is very easy for DS to manage his cash flow...
