Which banks are the most convenient? Which do students mostly use?

Not sure about Wachovia, now that they are owned by Wells-Fargo.

I think there’s a Bank of America on Nassau Street which is very close to campus. And there are ATM machines in the Frist Campus Center. There are probably other banks around also.

I tried Sovereign my freshman year and didn’t like it. I’ve used Bank of America ever since, and it’s been great. There’s an ATM in Frist and a full-service branch on Nassau St.

Is the princeton university federal credit union easier to use? It certainly does seem like it by the name

I don’t know any students who use it, so I can’t really say. But one thing to bear in mind is that when you go home and want to withdraw money, you’ll need to pay a fee because you’ll have to use another bank’s ATM (assuming your family doesn’t live in Princeton).

if using bank of america, do we open account in princeton or open account in home state?

Doesn’t matter. I opened mine in Princeton.

Does any one have information on PNC bank? I see they have a branch and ATM (I assume) on Nassau from their website, is there a ATM at Frist?

Also if a student uses the bank debit card, can they get some cash back from some of the stores on campus? On Nassau street?

Thanks for all the information posted here, they are very helpful!

The only ATMs in Frist are Bank of America and Princeton Credit Union. You can’t get cash back on campus, but you can at CVS (and maybe some other places) on Nassau.

how convenient is the chase bank? proximity to campus and other amenities?
