banks at tufts

are there any banks on or near campus?

i am trying to decide where to keep my money for easy access while at school

what bank to most students use at tufts?

Bank of America has an ATM in the Campus Center, and they're all over Boston and Davis.

Citizen's Bank has an ATM in Dowling Hall, and Davis.

Sovereign Bank is nearby, and I think also TD Banknorth (which recently merged with Commerce Bank).

Bank of America is definitely the most convenient bank to use at Tufts, but Citizen's Bank is accessible, too.

I agree with Sam, but I figured I'd throw in some of the local banks, in case that's the one they use at home and don't feel like switching.

anything wachovia?

do bank of america representatives have special promotions during orientation? I want to open an account now but my parents say to wait until then...

Yes Milkmagn, there will definitely be representatives from Bank Of America present during Orientation... I would wait till then because there is no real advantage of opening a new account prior (apart from wasting 20 minutes waiting in a line). Speaking with representatives who come to the school directly will probably give both you and your parents a better perspective than just any odd rep.

alyzb1, do not bother with Wachovia, the closest ATM is probably in downtown Boston... Definitely go with BofA as ATM's are abundantly located around campus locations and all across the Boston area.

Bank of America offers a student account that gives you something like 5 years of no fees on your account. That's a pretty good deal, considering that otherwise you'd have to keep a certain balance to avoid monthly fees. They also offer a credit card (about 600 dollar balance) for students.

Unfortunately, Wachovia does not extend north of New York.

Is there a WaMu?

No WaMu, anywhere near.

That's not good :x
