Banks

What banks are by GT? I need to transfer my account soon because I only use a local bank up here.

Bank of America, Wachovia, Washington Mutual, SunTrust...

There are a bunch of CitiBank ATMs (but, I usually never see an actual CitiBank).

Lockheed Credit Union (though, that's mainly in Cobb, away from GT)

Those are the only national chains I can think of right now.

Is there really a Washington Mutual there? How close to campus and is there an ATM?

While I've never bothered to look for the banks, I did a search on the Washington Mutual webpage for branches (w/ATMs) near zip code 30332 in ATL, GA and these are the best two results I got:

1 ATLANTA - CLEVELAND FINANCIAL CENTER
ATM: Y
Talking ATM: Y
2685 METROPOLITAN PKWY SW
ATLANTA, GA-30315
Distance: 1.94 miles from origin
404.559.1251

2 ATLANTA - MORELAND FINANCIAL CENTER
ATM: Y
Talking ATM: N
2491 VILLAGE CREEK LANDING
ATLANTA, GA-30316
Distance: 4.70 miles from origin
404.627.0053

Hope this helps :)

SunTrust, Bank of America, and Wachovia have ATMs in the student center on campus. I would assume those three are the most convenient for the average GT student since walking/driving 2 miles for an ATM is a bit excessive!

I used the ATM's on campus. I kept my credit union account out of state. It worked out fine for me. ATMs in Student Center and Barnes and Noble.

Considering student checking rates and such, I would recommed using Wachovia; they have an actual bank less than two miles from campus and better student banking rates than BoA
