Banks

Which banks are near/on the Duke campus? Thanks!

There's a Wachovia just off East Campus, there's a Bank of America (the one I use) at Northgate Mall not too far away (fairly long walk or short car ride), there's a Suntrust on Erwin Road very close walking distance off West Campus.

Also there are ATMs from those three banks (I believe - definitely Wachovia and Bank of America) in the Bryan Center. I probably missed a couple banks.

wachovia is just a hop skip and a jump away from east campus..like literally 1.5 blocks and youre there.

Wachovia also has an ATM in the basement of the Marketplace. I believe it's the only ATM on east campus.

Thanks a bunch!

The International House at Duke University whose mission is to support international students has a great handout on Banking services available to students and Duke Employees.

During Freshman Orientation all the banks set up shop in the East Campus Union Building. You can open an account, get your photo taken for your debit card and sometimes the banks even hand out freebies like pens and tote bags. When you receive your orientation packet there will be information about the date and time. However, if you can set up an account before you come to campus you will save time as there will be a queue.

The Bank of America cash machine on West Campus which is located in the Bryan Center is almost always out of cash. The machine is refilled once a day, but always runs out. There is not a set time to refill the BOA ATM due to security reasons. You can see on the handout that Wachovia has the most ATMs on campus.
