<p>My son got an email congratulating him on being a BK semifinalist and reminding him about parking for his interview...but he didn't even get into honors (he was accepted to Maryland) and this is the first email he's gotten about BK ever. I guess it is a mistake but weird!</p>

<p>Maybe we’ll get more emails recinding the first? I would really like him to get a scholarship so it would be so nice if this wasn’t a mistake!</p>
<p>I just got the same email and FREAKED OUT. but i didn’t get the letter either (even though i was accepted into the honors college), and had just gotten used to the fact that i’ve missed the chance to be a semi-finalist. it’s still most probably a mistake, but my god what a cruel one.</p>

<p>He tried to call, no answer…it doesn’t even say when this interview should be, maybe it is tomorrow. We live five hours away so don’t think he’ll be there…</p>

<p>I assume that if it was a mistake you will receive an email retracting the first email later on this evening. Even waiting until morning seems cruel. I would assume that people are right now emailing admissions like crazy. I tried to get my son to do this, but he said that it is obviously a mistake and he is knee deep in homework and projects right now. He did not give it a second thought or even entertain the notion that it is anything other than a mistake.</p>

Im in Honors and I got the email but I never got a letter or anything…</p>
<p>It says on the B/K website under New Scholars in 2013 " Banneker/Key Scholarship semifinalists will receive invitations to interview on campus in February-March 2013" so I guess it could be legit</p>
