Does anyone know what to dress for the campus interview? I would assume this is very formal and dress up is required.

This was answered in one of the other threads, but slacks and a collared shirt for guys is appropriate. A suit isn’t required, but you should dress up a bit.

^ Certainly a suit is not required but many guys do wear them. On my interview day IIRC almost all the guys were wearing suits.

Another piece of advice, don’t miss the breakfast events. This is where I made some great contacts.

What would you recommend for girls? This was answered for me a bit in the main B/K thread but I’m still a little uncertain on what’s right. I have clothes from Model Congress but I think those might be too formal, but most of my other clothes seem too casual. I’m thinking either black pants and a blouse or the slightly more formal option of a pencil skirt and a fitted business shirt (I hope that describes it well enough, I really don’t know fashion terminology…), any thoughts on which one would be better?

I agree with the advice in post #3. In 2011, I saw many young men–maybe even a majority of them–but not not all young men in suits. A suit wouldn’t be inappropriate, but I don’t think you’d need to go out and buy one for the occasion if you didn’t own one.

smwhtslghtlydzed, my daughter did wear a suit–probably something like your Model Congress apparel–and she was probably dressed more formally than most girls there. I think either of your non-Model Congress options sounds fine. If you can’t decide between them, wear the skirt. But if you’d be more comfortable in pants, wear pants.

When are the interviews? Relax and enjoy the day…it’s not often that people will try hard to convince you to pick THEIR school to attend! UMD recognizes that all the B/K invitees probably have lots of choices of where they attend. It’s a fun day to celebrate your accomplishments! Good luck to all.
